Vacancy:                                        Summer School Coordinator

Program Information:           Program runs from July 8-August 1; Monday – Thursday, 8-2

Requirements:                            Valid NYS teaching certification in Childhood 1-6 required with Literacy B-6 preferred

Qualifications:

  • Experience effectively teaching elementary reading and mathematics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills (time, space, materials, groups)
  • Excellent understanding of Kendall’s reading and mathematics programs

Job Description:

  • Pre-planning and preparation work leading up to summer programming
  • Consult with the ES Principal to ensure timely parent communication
  • Assist with recruiting and hiring summer program teachers
  • Communicate clearly and efficiently with all stake-holders
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of the curriculum and assessments and ensure consistency throughout program
  • Utilize data to determine priority standards to be featured at each grade-level
  • Complete, review, and disseminate end of summer growth data
  • Implement lessons and serve as a teacher for each of the three sessions

Pay Rate:                                              Per KFA contract, $33/hr
